Evaluation criteria

Evaluation criteria

A jury of experts will award the projects that best exploit the potential of 3D printing.

A jury of experts will examine the proposals received starting from the concept behind each project. The projects that best exploit the potential of the 3D printers used for their creation will be rewarded.

Innovation in shapes

Artistic and design projects that stand out for their innovative forms, enhancing the concept of creativity and originality.

Functionality

Projects that prioritize functionality, using
high-quality materials that lighten the component and improve its technical properties.

Sustainability

Projects that adopt a sustainable economic and environmental sustainable approach, through the use of a smaller quantity of material and promoting the product’s longevity.

Technical feasibility

Projects that can be easily produced with the available technologies, which take into consideration at least one of the presented areas.

Presentation

Clarity and completeness in the presentation of the concept and project’s features compared to the submitted brief.

Why participate in the Additive Design Contest

Why participate

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2024 and the opening of CoFactory, the new open urban factory dedicated to rapid prototyping and digital manufacturing, Designtech offers designers and artists the opportunity to see innovative 3D printed prototypes created - for the first time within the space – which will be exhibited during the design week.
